Frequently Asked Questions


PayPal Problems:  If you wish to pay by credit or debit card and do not have (or do not want) a PayPal Account, sometimes PayPal will not show the link to pay via cards.  You need to clear the cookies in your web browser if this happens.

How long will it before my order is posted?

All orders are processed within 3 working days of receipt of payment.  In reality, if an order & payment  is received before mid-day (U.K.), Mon-Fri then in most cases your order will be posted the same day.

My Downloads are very slow or time-out!

Files are stored on a secure Amazon Server located in Ireland (EU) and in theory you will enjoy blistering download speeds (dependent on location, internet connection & your computer specifications) - please contact us for alternative links from a server nearer your location.


When will I receive my order?

In the U.K. all orders are sent First Class - in most cases this means next day delivery. If you have not received your order within 7 days - please contact us.

Outside the U.K. orders are posted Airmail Small Packet Rate. According to the Post Office they aim to deliver to Europe within 3 working days, Worldwide within 5 days.  Depending on destination, please allow up to 10-14 days before contacting us if your order hasn't arrived.


Do the CD/DVD's work with my Operating System?

Our CD/DVD's contain standard format PDF files and will work on all platforms. If your disk does not automatically open, browse to your disk drive via My Computer or File Manager.


How is my order packed?

All orders are packed in a tough protective mailer. If your goods arrive damaged please let us know - they leave our premises in perfect condition.


How do I use the CD's?

All our CD-Books are presented in a standard PDF format and are readable with Adobe Reader Version 5 or higher. Windows versions will open from the CD if this feature is enabled on your computer. Most of the CD Books are bookmarked & fully word searchable - occasionally a book will not be suitable for OCR (text recognition) but this will be clearly stated.


Can we do look-ups from your CD's?

In line with other publishers of similar material, we have no problem with people helping others by providing information from our books to "answer a specific query" - it is courteous to acknowledge that you have used one of our CD's and good practice to quote the source of the information.  We do not however, authorize advertising of blanket look up offers, as this hits our sales and therefore the funds for obtaining new material.


Presentation Cases

From July 2005 we are changing from the standard Jewel Cases to DVD Style Presentation Cases for all our CD & DVD's. No more cracked or scratched cases!  The new cases are durable and therefore the chances of damage in the post are minimal. We also think they look pretty good on the shelf!


Can I print or copy a page from the CD Book?

Yes you can - most of our CD Books are black text on a white background. You can easily print any page using Adobe Reader. Using the fit-to-page option you can print to A4 and get a very good printed copy.

Pages & part pages, text only or image, can be copied to the clipboard for pasting into your word processor very easily.


Lending books to us for scanning.

If you have an interesting, out of copyright, book or directory and you would like to see it reproduced as a CD-Book then please contact us - if it is suitable then we will scan it!  Book lenders receive a permanent 20% discount on all purchases & a free CD of your book. We will pay return postage and in some cases your costs incurred.


Faulty CD or DVD's - what do I do?

We use a reliable branded make of CD-R and since we started have had only the occasional faulty CD. This happens with mass produced media and now and then one slips through our checking process. We have a policy of replacing any faulty media at no charge whatsoever to the customer.

DVD-R's are a relatively new media in the marketplace and there are known compatibility problems with some drives & brands of DVD. If you have a known problem with any particular brand please let us know.
